An exclusive beach front property sits in 4.5 acres of natural beauty and tropical gardens directly look out onto the Indian Ocean. The house, completed, 2 years ago and exquisitely furnished by an interior designer boasts of being one of the most spectacular homes along this coastline.
Inspired by sugar plantation colonial homes Michikichi is almond pink with a white roof and deep verandas offering a welcome reprieve from the mid-day tropical sun. The property enjoys two swimming pools – a modern infinity 23 metre wide pool extending directly from the living area with access also from the Master En-Suite, and a charming smaller pool set in lush vegetation with its own pavilion.
Access to the beach is direct from the lawn and its wide expanse of privacy is only shared with the coming and goings of the local fishermen. Neighbouring beaches of sand offer relaxing quiet walks at low tide. A small headland is also part of the garden where it is a favourite to enjoy sundowners together with a makuti roofed beach banda offering an alternative dining area to that of the house. Little pockets of private areas can be found throughout the grounds giving nuggets of delightful views.
The house itself offers top class accommodation – the Master Bedroom area has a private spa-like courtyard and the en-suite marble bathroom with the jacuzzi overlooking the smaller pool, the library offers seclusion and privacy with a dedicated small courtyard and the living room is a grand area for entertaining with a beautiful bar and ample seating arrangements.
The Dining Hall with its high pitched tongue and grove ceiling boasts some beautiful local artwork and there is also a small breakfast outdoor/indoor dining area enjoying a bubble fountain and cooling breezes from the Indian Ocean. In addition there is a dedicated TV room with plasma screen TV and surround sound.
In total there are 6 double bedrooms – 2 ocean facing, 2 garden facing and a downstairs twin-bedded together with the master suite. Five of these, enjoy top of the range ‘wet’ room bathrooms and private verandahs with the master suite having its own area. Maximum no of guests 12. Because of the superb finishes children must be supervised and smoking is not allowed in the main house.
The kitchen is high-spec and there is an in-house trained chef. The house has an automatic generator and water desalination unit. In total there are 12 staff all dedicated to making the Michikichi holiday experience a very special one – 2 housegirls, 1 houseman, Chef, 4 gardeners and 4 security guards.
The house can be rented on a self-catering basis or full-board. Full board includes breakfast, lunch, high tea and 3 course dinner. Wine, spirits and liqueurs can be arranged on request and the bar well stocked to meet clients needs.
